Day 136 – Going on nights

Today, the job is kinda taking its toll. Like all jobs, being a doctor has its downsides.

Uncertain is the main thing we manage. We manage sickness and hope they get well. We trust that our medication may work and we trust that when we discharge our patients, they never come back to the hospital and live their lives to the fullest.

Of course, there will always be people who will be dissatisfied with our best efforts and take matters into their own hands and simply leave. And being a doctor, we can’t help but feel inadequate that we have somewhat failed these patients.

We cannot control what we cannot control. And being a doctor really puts us in that grey zone.

It is very uncomfortable by the way.

Made my best omelette today.
